What you need to know

  • A few key tech specs of the upcoming Moto G 5G have leaked online.
  • The phone will apparently come with a 90Hz display and Qualcomm's 7nm Snapdragon 765 chipset.
  • Motorola is also said to be working on a "Moto G 5G Plus."

We got our first look at the Moto G 5G yesterday, courtesy of Evan Blass. The notable leaker has now shed light on some of the key specs of the upcoming mid-ranger and revealed that it is the same device that had leaked online as the Motorola Edge Lite 5G recently.

According to Blass, the Moto G 5G will have a FHD+ display with dual hole-punch cutouts and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. As confirmed by the leaked render of the phone, the Moto G 5G will feature a quad-camera setup at the rear. The setup will include a 48MP main sensor, a 5MP macro lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

As per a report published last month, the Moto G 5G will be available through Verizon in the U.S. and come with a large 4,800mAh battery with 20W fast charging support. The international variants of the phone are expected to include a dedicated Google Assistant button as well. On the software side of things, it will run Android 10 with some customizations from Motorola added on top.

The Moto G 5G is apparently not the only new 5G-enabled mid-range phone that Motorola is currently working on. Blass has revealed that Motorola will also launch a Moto G 5G Plus, which will likely have slightly more impressive tech specs than the standard Moto G 5G.
