Arkane Lyon's new title is highly optimized on Sony's next-generation console.
What you need to know
- Deathloop is an upcoming title from Arkane Lyon.
- Deathloop runs at 4K 60 frames per second on PS5.
- The game also takes advantage of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Arkane Lyon's Deathloop, first revealed back at E3 2019, has been revealed as a timed console exclusive for PlayStation 5. According to a new press release from publsiher Bethesda Softworks, Deathloop will run at 4K 60FPS on PS5.
The benefits on PS5 don't stop there, as Deathloop is also taking advantage of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers sported by the new DualSense controller. This means that feedback from using different guns and powers or taking damage is all amplified.
Deathloop places players in the boots of Colt, a prisoner trapped in a time loop that'll only be broken if he kills eight specific targers before midnight. There's a big catch however, as Colt is being hunted by Julianna, a lethal assassin who can be controlled by another player, if online functionality is enabled.
Both the PS5 and Deathloop are releasing sometime in Holiday 2020. Deathloop is also releasing on PC and since it is a timed exclusive, will presumably come to Xbox Series X at a later date.
Arkane Studios' work on immersive sims shouldn't be lost next generation
