With a brand new season of Fortnite comes brand new challenges, and Chapter 2 has once again changed up the way players will be taking them on. For the recent All New World set of missions, one of the challenges for this week will have you utilizing one of the new features of Chapter 2, fishing, to catch a weapon. Fishing could be a bit confusing at first, but we're here to help.
Knowing the challenge
Fishing rods are brand new items that have been introduced in Chapter 2, and can be found pretty much anywhere on the map, including in chests, near bodies of water, or simply as floor loot. Like most other video games, fishing in Fortnite is all about waiting for the right time to pull your rod out of the water. Finding a weapon, however, is random, as you can sometimes pull up a fish, or even a rusty can.
How to Fish and catch a weapon in Fortnite
- Jump into any game mode of Fortnite's Battle Royale. I'd suggest Solo or Team Rumble, as it's the best for challenges like these.
- Head to any body of water to find a fishing rod. I'd suggest somewhere out of the way, like Craggy Cliffs, so you have lots of water to fish from.
- Use your right trigger or RMB on your mouse to cast the lure into the water, and wait for the lure to make a splash

Once the lure bobs or splashes, click the right trigger or RMB to reel in the line.
Once you finish up, you'll be all done with that challenge, and can either get started on some of the other missions for this week or finish up the match you're in.
