‘Fortnite’ server crashes, Pornhub respond with hilarious tweet

Pornhub ask Epic to get Fortnite’s servers fixed or their servers would crash next

Epic Games, the studio behind the insanely popular video game “Fortnite Battle Royale” of 2018, in the early hours of Thursday had tweeted that its Fortnite servers was encountering server difficulties due to the latest 3.5 update and would be down for ‘emergency maintenance’ to tackle numerous bugs and technical issues.

“We’re bringing the servers offline for emergency upkeep. We apologize for this inconvenience. We presently don’t have any ETA on when servers shall be again up. Keep up to date with our standing web page right here: https://t.co/3y0X6buriO”

Pornhub, one of the internet’s biggest adult sharing sites, took the opportunity to reply with a hilarious tweet saying, “Please hurry or our servers will crash next,” indirectly hinting at the huge increase in traffic to their website while Fortnite servers are down.

While the tweet by Pornhub was certainly a joke, the Pornhub insights team at the end of March had released information that there’s been a huge spike in people searching for Fortnite porn videos on their website.

The insights team said: “Fortnite’s biggest search increase occurred on 15 March after Drake played the game live on Twitch.

“Not only did it break records for concurrent Twitch views, it caused searches on Pornhub to increase 824 percent above average.”

The Pornhub insights team continued: “By looking at what users typically search before or after searching Fortnite, we can start to see a game related trend develop.

“The most common search during the same user session is Overwatch, followed by Team Fortress 2 and video game. Other games being searched Minecraft, Pokemon, Rainbox Six Siege and Fortnite’s rival platform, PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds).”

While most of the technical problems have been resolved by Epic Games, the company announced that the servers should be back to normal very soon. However, the company plans to make it up to the disappointed Fortnite players by distributing several freebies.

“It’s been no secret that over the past 24 hours we’ve been experiencing issues with our services that have prevented many of you from playing Battle Royale and Save the World. We’re sorry,” Epic Games said in a post on their official website. “We know how frustrating this has been. We messed up here.”

For those players who have been “awesome and patient”, the company announced that they will be doing the following:

  • For Battle Royale players, this weekend we’ll be offering a Back Bling gift that you can pick up in the store for free.
  • For our Save the World folks, this weekend we will be offering a Troll Stash Llama in the loot tab for free.

The post on the website further read, “Next week, we will be granting a pack of Battle Stars to our Battle Royale players and Seasonal Gold to the Save the World players. This will require brief additional downtime, so we will be including it as a part of our planned update next week.

“We’ll have a detailed postmortem of this week’s issues, and more information about how we will improve services for you in the future. Look for this later next week.”
